During the last week of Term Two we had an earthquake at school. Room 5 wrote about that morning.
Today we were doing reading. It was our turn on the mat. We were in the middle of our book when Mrs Cornelius felt the floor shaking. It was an earthquake! We had to go the under tables.

On Monday at reading time there was a little earthquake at Clive School. Mrs Cornelius told us to go under the table. She said to duck down and hold the table legs. We got to come out.

In our class we were doing reading. Suddenly we felt the ground shaking. It was an earthquake! We had to go under the tables really fast. I was scared. Then the earthquake stopped. We had to get out. We talked about it and then we started reading again.

It's great to see you all know what to do in an earthquake. We only get really small ones here in Auckland, but have had a couple in the past year which is strange for up here. We also practiced earthquake procedure at work just in case we get a big one. Since I work in a large laboratory we need to know what to do just in case.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Room 5!
